The term “picnic” originates from the French word “pique-nique,” signifying a get-together wherein each person shares their meals. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, in June 2009, more than 20,000 people attended the largest picnic, which was hosted in Portugal.
“Participants from all around Portugal came to attend and set this record. 400 buses were organised to bring all the participants to the park were the record attempt took place,” the official website stated.
