Instagram: Explained: What is Instagram’s new moderation tool and how you can use it – Times of India

instagram has announced a moderator tool for the platform that can help creators during their live streams. The new feature was announced by the Facebook-owned platform in a Twitter post. The moderation feature was already available on the popular video streaming platform that allows users to broadcast live. Although Instagram introduced the live broadcast feature back in 2016, it is surprising that it took the platform over 5 years to add the moderator tool. But what is the moderator tool and why is it important? Here are the answers.
What’s the new moderation tool on Instagram and how can it help you
The simplest answer to this question can be found in Instagram’s Twitter post where it announced the feature. “We are launching live moderator Feather Instagram LiveWhere creators can assign a mod and power them: report comments, remove viewers from live and turn off comments for viewers,” reads the post on Twitter.
As mentioned in the post, this feature will allow you to select an Instagram user as the moderator for your live broadcast. The main purpose of the feature is to remove comments or users that may be abusive or harmful to the creator or users watching the live broadcast.
Until now, only Instagram creators hosting live broadcasts had the ability to remove viewers or turn off comments.
