In Alwar’s Rajgarh, bulldozers were run on houses and 3 temples in the name of master plan and Gaurav Path. The action took place on April 17. Politics has heated up after the matter came to light on Friday. Both BJP and Congress are accusing each other of inciting religious sentiments. Bhaskar reached the spot to know the truth of the whole matter.
People were angry that why 300 years old temples were demolished? Upon investigation of the matter, shocking facts came to the fore. The planning to remove the encroachment was going on for 7 months. Many houses and three temples were coming in the way of master plan and Gaurav Path.
The officials also knew that a dispute could escalate over such a huge action. In such a situation, a proposal was made in the board meeting held in September for the rescue, so that nothing would come to the officials. On the day of action, the seizure of 150 policemen was sought. Two other councilors, including 32 BJP councilors included in the board, also unanimously passed its resolution. In the municipal elections, BJP had 14, independents 20 and only one Congress councilor had won. Later, barring two, most of the councilors came in support of the BJP. If the chairman wanted, he could have put a ‘descent’ note objecting to it. None of the public representatives did this.
MLA said- BJP is responsible
Rajgarh MLA Johri Lal Meena says that the temple and encroachment were demolished on the orders of the BJP councilor and chairman. He said that only the administration and the municipality are responsible for this.
Administration did it of its own free will
Municipality chairman Satish Dahariya said – A proposal was taken to build Gaurav Path in the Municipality Board. There was no such thing in the proposal as to how wide the road would be widened to make Gaurav Path. It was also not stated how far the encroachment would be removed. There is no talk of demolishing the temple in the board’s proposal. All this has been done by the administration on its own volition. Two-three days before the removal of the encroachment, the councilors had also given in writing.
People called the collector’s report false, said – idols were lying in the drain
After this dispute, the report was issued by the Alwar Collector. It was told in this report at one place that the idols kept in the temple were removed by the builders before removing the encroachment. People allege that they have seen the idols being broken in front of them. They even claim that the idols were found lying in the drain, which were later shifted to another place.
Encroachment in Rajgarh of Alwar has been removed in this way. Temples have also been demolished under this action, which has now become a cause for controversy.
Elderly Rajni said – Children are sleeping at the neighbor’s place, from where to get food
There was anger among people after the action. Slogans were raised against the leaders of both BJP and Congress. A woman named Rajni was crying bitterly. He told that our house was demolished. Can’t even go inside. Children are kept in neighbors’ houses. What to feed the kids now? There was a shop, he used to walk home, he broke it.
The Rajgarh municipality had sought police possession before removing the encroachment. For this, a letter was also written to the SDM. The resolution of the encroachment of the municipal board, which was passed.
Some say 150 years old and some say 200 years old
Advocate Surendra Mathur told that one temple was 300 years old and two temples were 150 to 200 years old. Our seven generations are worshiping this temple. Ankit Vijay from the priest family of the temple said that we have been worshiping. Bulldozers were fired at the temple. He showed the idols of Shiva family taken out from the drain. Here, after this matter, all the officials and public representatives are missing from Rajgarh.
There is such a scene after the encroachment removed in Alwar’s Rajgarh. In the name of master plan and Gaurav Path, bulldozers were run on houses and 3 temples.
EO knew there would be a dispute, so asked for the possession of 150 police
A proposal was taken in the board on 8 September 2021 to remove the temple and 90 encroachments. It was also passed with the consent of all. The 2012 master plan was cited for removal of encroachments. EO Banwari Lal Meena knew that there could be a dispute. In such a situation, on 12 April 2022, writing a letter to the SDM, asked for the possession of 150 policemen. Now when the controversy escalated, he himself is missing from there.
This is the fourth temple left in Rajgarh of Alwar. Earlier, bulldozers have been run on 3 pagodas.
What are the rules, now only DLB can challenge
There are two types of encroachment, first is the owner property and the second is unauthorized (which is the land of the government). First 7 days, then 3 days and then 24 hours notice is given to the owner to remove the encroachment from the property. After that action is taken by the body.
Second unauthorized encroachment. There is no need to take an offer for this. If against the master plan, then they are identified first.
Concerned encroachment inspector makes its chance report and commissioner issues DO letter. (It is informed that the encroachment has been marked in the report made by the concerned officer)
Maximum 15 and not less than 7 days are given for removal of encroachments, notices are affixed.
