PanajiAmazon Prime Video has organized an informative masterclass ‘Creating Cinematic Success and Storytelling of Sardar Udham’ at the 52nd edition of the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
The masterclass offered attendees a deep dive into the making of Shoojit Sircar’s critically acclaimed film.
The highly informative and interesting talk about Sardar Udham, moderated by Smriti Kiran, focused on the secret thread that turned the story based on the lesser-known revolutionary freedom fighter into a cinematic success.
Talking about giving birth to a thought-provoking film like ‘Sardar Udham’, Shoojit Sircar shared, “Over the years I have visited Jallianwala Bagh many times and interacted with the survivors and their families. And have heard their accounts. Udham Singh, to recreate the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, to share those real, real survivor accounts, took root in me.”
He further added, “As a filmmaker I wanted the audience to take back “Jallianwala Bagh” as they would take back the “movement” of that time. We did a lot of research and survivors to ensure the story remains authentic. Udham Singh. Most of the moments you see in the Jallianwala Bagh scenes in the film are inspired by real stories.”
Vicky Kaushal is in the lead role in ‘Sardar Udham’.
