According to Shrimata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, 20 thousand devotees are reaching Katra base camp every day. Devotees from all over the country including neighboring states like Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh are reaching for darshan. Devotees from neighboring states come more on Saturdays. According to a senior board official, the arrival of devotees is likely to increase further during the new year.

The board has also issued an appeal for the devotees in view of the Corona period. The board says that the devotees coming to see the mother should strictly follow the Corona guidelines. Omicron, the new variant of the corona, requires more caution. A senior official of the board told in a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar that many steps have been taken to prevent the spread of corona infection. In these the entire premises are sanitized.

Complete adherence to the Corona guidelines is being ensured. The board has appealed to all the devotees to cooperate to prevent the spread of corona infection. Wearing of masks and social distancing are being followed. For this, a presentation is also being given on the hi-tech video wall on the yatra route along with announcement from multi-purpose audio system.

Negative test report necessary, thermal scanning of devotees
Negative RTPCR test report has been made mandatory for devotees. The report should not be older than 72 hours. The temperature is checked by thermal scanning of devotees. In the first week of this month, 200 devotees were found positive in the investigation at the base camp.
