The Central Railway will operate a special infrastructure block for crossovers between Thane and Diva for commissioning of Thane-Diva 5th and 6th lines and for diversion of trains at Diva (North).
The Mumbai Suburban Rail – considered the city’s lifeline – will be partially closed for 18 hours from Sunday, December 19, with the opening of Thane-Diva 5th and 6th lines and diversion of trains to Diva (North). Crossover for. Block Up and Down slow lines will be operated by Central Railway (CR) from 8 AM on Sunday, 19 December to 2 PM on Monday, 20 December.
During this period, services of many long distance and suburban trains will remain canceled between December 18 and December 20. “Suburban services will not be available at Kalwa and Mumbra stations during the block period,” a CR release said. Central Railway has appealed to passengers traveling from Kopar and Thakurli stations to board trains from Dombivli and Kalyan respectively. The railway administration has made arrangements to run buses in coordination with Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli transport undertakings for the benefit of the passengers.
Here is a list of suburban services to be affected:
Up slow/semi-fast services for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus leaving Kalyan from 07.47 hrs to 23.52 hrs will be diverted to Up fast line between Diva and Mulund and skipping halts at Mumbra and Kalwa; At Mulund station, it was re-diverted to Up slow line and arrived at destination 10 minutes behind schedule.
Dn slow/semi-fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 07.42 hrs to 01.15 hrs (on 20.12.2021) will be diverted to Dn fast line between Mulund and Diva stations and stopping halts at Kalwa and Mumbra; Diva station was re-diverted to DOWN Slow line and arrived at destination 10 minutes behind schedule.
