Deepika, Neelam, Annu and Sunalita Toppo all scored goals as the Indian team registered an emphatic win against hosts South Africa

The Indian junior women’s hockey team ended their tour of South Africa undefeated with a 4-0 win over the host country’s ‘A’ team.

Deepika Senior broke the deadlock with a goal in the 13th minute after South Africa had conceded a penalty stroke.

Minutes later, Neelam (15th minute) converted a penalty corner to double India’s lead. Annu (35th) and Sunalita Toppo (50th) scored late in the second half on Saturday night to seal the win.

The tour of South Africa was a part of the team’s preparations for the U-21 Asia Cup, which serves as a qualifier for the upcoming FIH Junior Women’s World Cup. World cup.
