The first season of Indian Idol Telugu is going on at the moment. In the recent weekend episode of the show, the contesting singers and judges paid tribute to the veteran SP Balasubramaniam. Singer Kalpana was a special guest on the show during these tribute episodes. He has sung several hit duets with SPB and episodes also follow the duet theme, with two singers singing one of his songs.
The contestants sang SPB songs in a 2-episode special of Indian Idol Telugu. Kalpana became emotional as the memories of SPB were revived during this time. It was a complete nostalgia ride for the judges, audience and studio audience as they all got a chance to revisit the classics of SPB. The episodes will also include several stories related to SPB and the songs recorded by them during their long career.
