Indian Idol is known as the biggest platform for singing talent in the country. The launchpad shows of many famous singers of the industry have given beautiful voices to the audience season after season. As the show concludes for its 12th season on Sunday, we have compiled a list of contestants from this season who have already worked in playback singing or are making their debut in the industry. To keep an eye:
1. Beach Solanki – Sahil is an accomplished playback singer who has already churned out many songs before participating in the singing reality show this year. Sahil’s vast body of work includes albums such as Old Is Gold, Glory of Chalisa & Chant’s and Salute. He has also done playback for the film Dushman in 2017.
2. Vaishnav Girish — The singer made her debut in the 2014 Malayalam singing reality show Surya Singer 2. Thereafter, he became massively famous and did playback for the Malayalam film Ankarajyathe Jimmanmar. He rose to fame with his audition in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs when his video went viral, leading to press coverage.
3. Anushka Banerjee – Anushka, who has been loved by the audience, had earlier sung a track for the 2016 Bengali film E J Ek Obuj Prem. Even though the singer only has one song out for now, we can confirm that it’s only a matter of time before she makes it big.
4. Shireesha Bhaguvatula — The singer, who has already won a lot of hearts in the show, made her playback debut opposite AR Rahman. She sang Mathare (Bigil) in Tamil and Manini (Whistle) in Telugu. He has also worked in a song with music legend SP Balasubramaniam.
5. Nachiket Lele – The singer is known for his soulful rendition of devotional songs. He has done many playback singing for Achyutam Keshavam, Ganesh Aarti and many other devotional albums.
6. Anjali Gaikwad – The 15-year-old singer has already established her name in the playback industry. He has sung songs for Sachin: A Billion Dreams. He also did playback singing for several devotional albums.
7. Shanmukha Priya — Trained in Carnatic music, jazz and yodeling, Shanmukha did her first playback song for the Telugu film Tejam. Singer is one of the finalists of Indian Idol 12.
8.Nihal Touro – Nihal has lent his voice to soulful tracks on several albums like Thotil, Love Mocktail and Jilika. They will also compete for the title in the grand finale to be held on Sunday.
9. Pawandeep Rajan –Pawandeep released his first song Yakeen in 2015. The talented contestant has done playback for the song in the album Chholiyar and in the film Romeo en Bullet.
