Indian fans rejoice with ‘Saat Samundar’ after India’s historic win at Lord’s – Watch

New Delhi: For fans of the Indian cricket team, August 16, 2021 has become a day to remember for eras when Virat Kohli and Co crossed all odds to register a historic victory over heavyweight England at the iconic Lord’s Stadium. After the first hour of play on the final day of the India vs England Lord’s Test, it was very clear that India could possibly fail to set a daunting target for England to chase down, but tail-enders Jasprit Bumrah and Mohd. Shami broke the unbeaten record with an 89-run partnership to take the team to the top.

Shami and Bumrah’s fight lifted the spirit of the entire dressing room when he had to come out to defend the total. The Indian bowlers bowled brilliantly as they bundled out England for 120 runs in less than 52 overs to win the Lord’s Test by 151 runs.

Meanwhile, a video of Indian fans’ wild celebration on the streets of the United Kingdom (UK) after India’s historic win has gone viral on social media. In the video, Indian fans can be seen dancing to the famous Bollywood song ‘Saat Samundar Paar’, while UK Police also requested the crowd not to create traffic jams by dancing in the middle of the road.

Talking about the high-octane Lord’s Test, on the fifth and final day, England were adjudged the favorites to win the second Test as India lost 6 wickets and were only 154 runs ahead in the second innings. However, after Shami-Bumrah’s batting heroism, the hosts managed to declare their innings at 298/8.

Chasing 272 for victory in 60 overs, the England batsmen lost to deadly Indian bowlers as the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series.
