The Virat Kohli-led Indian team created history after registering their first Test win at the Oval in more than 50 years. Team India made a spectacular comeback after being bundled out for 191 runs and defeated the English team by 157 runs to take the series 2-1. Congratulating Team India’s win, International Cricket Council (ICC) shared an Instagram post congratulating the team on their first win at the Oval ground since 1971. The post was flooded with comments from Indian fans, one of whom trolled English pacer Stuart Broad for his prediction on the first day of the match. . The fan wrote, ‘Hey @stuartbroad you said that England will win this match on the first day of the match. Can you come to the comment section please?”
Broad also gave a cheeky response and asked the fan if anything happened. “On vacation, what happened?” He has written. Broad, who has been an integral part of the English bowling lineup, was ruled out of the series after the first Test with a calf injury.
The England team was missing out on Broad’s experience in the third innings as the England bowling line-up failed to stop the Indian batsmen. India posted a total of 466 runs in their second innings, thanks to a scintillating century from Rohit Sharma and some help from Cheteshwar Pujara, Shardul Thakur and others. Beating England’s 99-run lead, India set the hosts a target of 368 runs to win, which proved to be too much for the English team.
Now all eyes are on the fifth and last Test match to be played at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. While India will be aiming to continue their fine form and seal the series with a win, the English team will be hoping to bounce back and at least level the series 2-2. If India manages to register a series win, it will be the first time since 2007.
