Soon after a memorable victory in the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday, the Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team celebrated an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The Indian side was seen conducting a singing session as part of their celebrations in Sri Lanka. In a video posted by batsman Suryakumar Yadav, teammates including Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan were seen celebrating in India’s dressing room on Tuesday night.
Showing excellent resilience and grit in tough conditions, Team India chased down 276 for victory even after being reduced to 193 for 7 as Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga defeated three players Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan and Krunal Pandya. was sent back to the pavilion.
Young stars Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar shared an unbeaten match-winning partnership of 84 runs for the 8th wicket. He achieved the victory of Team India with 5 balls remaining.
After the series win, Suryakumar Yadav posted a video of the celebration on his Instagram handle.
In the video, young players Hardik Pandya, Ishaan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav can be heard singing their heart out during a late night jam session. He sang the famous song ‘Bheegi Bheegi’ from the Bollywood movie ‘Gangster’ as part of his ‘Extended Utsav’. The video has got more than 3.50 lakh views so far.
After winning the 2nd ODI, the Indian cricket team secured its 9th consecutive bilateral series win over Sri Lanka. It was also Shikhar Dhawan and Rahul Dravid’s first series win as India captain and coach respectively.
In the second ODI, batting at number 8, Deepak Chahar scored his first half-century and led India to a three-wicket win over Sri Lanka. Batting first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka scored 275 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. In reply, India scored 277 for 7 in 49.1 overs.
