India working with 10 more countries to create bubbles: Scindia – Times of India

New Delhi: With Omicron resuming regular international flights, India is currently working on creating an air bubble with 10 more countries including Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.
Since last summer, India has bubbled up with 31 countries so far.
The government had earlier decided that the bubble would end and international flights under air services agreements (bilateral) with various countries would start from December 15. But now it will be the same depending on the situation of the pandemic.
“We have 10 proposals pending for air bubble agreements. We have sent proposals to these countries. Saudi Arabia is one of them,” Union Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia told Parliament on Thursday.
It is learned that bubble formation is underway with Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Israel, Italy, the Philippines, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.
“The government is now keen to resume regular flights. Until this happens, international connectivity will continue to be provided under the bubble system and based on the rules of various countries during the pandemic. We are constantly monitoring the situation that comes to the fore,” the officials said.
