India will not allow China to take even an inch of our land: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday that India will not give even an inch of its land to China and expressed hope that the remaining issues related to the eastern Ladakh border standoff between the two countries will be resolved through talks. Singh also said that India will give a befitting reply to anyone who threatens its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity as it is no longer a weak country. Referring to the opposition’s criticism of the government over the East Ladakh standoff, he said, “Our political opponents keep raising some questions without knowing the facts fully.”

“I don’t want to go into what happened during the Sino-India war of 1962. But I want to assure as the Defense Minister of the country that when we are there (in government), there is not even an inch of land in the possession of China. Singh said at an event organized by Zee News.

He said that the NDA government will not compromise on the pride and prestige of the country at any cost.

The Defense Minister also said that the Russia-Ukraine conflict has shown that if a war occurs in any part of the world, it has to be fought between the parties involved and no third country will be easily involved.

The eastern Ladakh border standoff began in early May 2020 following violent clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in the Pangong Tso area.

As a result of a series of military talks, the two sides last year completed the separation process on the north and south banks of Pangong Lake and in the Gogra region. However, some friction points continue to face-to-face.

The defense minister said the friction between troops on both sides is largely due to China’s perception about the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

“Some issues have been discussed and some of them we have succeeded. One or two issues are under discussion. I am sure we will achieve success on those as well. There is no need to despair yet.” They said.

Singh said that India is now a powerful country and will deal with those who threaten its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“India is not a weak country as before. It has become a powerful country. India has neither attacked any country in the world nor occupied an inch of land of others… but I can say India will give a proper country. If anyone tries to jeopardize its unity, integrity and sovereignty, then respond.”

India has been insisting on restoring the status quo before the standoff in eastern Ladakh.

India has consistently maintained that peace and tranquility along the LAC is vital for the overall development of bilateral relations.

On the ceasefire with Pakistan along the Line of Control, Singh said it has been in force for over a year.

“Earlier, Pakistan used to violate the ceasefire earlier. It has been more than a year since the ceasefire came into force, but Pakistan has not been able to muster the courage to violate it. It is working,” Singh said. India’s stature.

The Defense Minister also said that Left Wing Extremism is now at its lowest level.

Violence has almost ended in the Northeast region as well.
