India vs South Africa, 3rd Test: Virat Kohli becomes 6th Indian fielder to complete 100 Test catches

New Delhi: The third and final Test of the three-match Test series of the Indian cricket team is currently being played at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town.

On the second day of the Ind vs SA 3rd Test, India’s red-ball captain Virat Kohli added another feather to his cap as the star batsman completed his 100th Test catch during the match. Kohli has become the sixth Indian fielder, who is not a wicketkeeper, to complete 100 catches for India in the longest format.

Former India cricketer and head coach Rahul Dravid tops the list of players who have taken most wickets in Test cricket for the national team. Dravid has completed 209 catches in 163 matches. Former Test specialist VVS Laxman is at number two in this list with the help of 135 catches in 134 Tests.

The name of ‘Lord of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar is at number three in this list. The Master Blaster has completed 115 catches in 200 Test matches. Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar is fourth with 108 catches and Mohammad Azharuddin is at number five with 105 catches.

Talking about the match, senior batsmen Virat Kohli (14*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (9*) managed to hold on to the fort till the stumps on Day 2 of the India vs SA 3rd Test as the experienced duo led Team India. Gave some flexibility from 57/2. Take a 70-run lead against South Africa. Batting first, India scored 223 runs and then the Proteas were bowled out for 210 runs.
