Speaking at the India TV Samvad Sammelan organized to commemorate eight years of the Modi government, Gadkari said technology is underway for toll collection on highways which will use a satellite system.

India Tv Samvad: FASTag may soon be a thing of the past as Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari plans to bring in an entirely new technology for toll tax collection.

Speaking at the India TV Samvad Sammelan organized to commemorate eight years of the Modi government, Gadkari said technology is underway for toll collection on highways which will use a satellite system.

Nitin Gadkari said, “When you enter the expressway the satellite will click the picture of your vehicle, on exit it will click the photo again and money will be deducted from your bank account. There’s no need to stop.”

Speaking on the future of transport in the country, Gadkari said that alternative fuels are the future and will also help in fighting pollution.

“An electric car will cost the same as normal cars. By 2024, electric cars will be cheaper than normal cars,” Gadkari said, adding that the Indian automobile industry would be worth Rs 15 lakh crore. We will become number one. in the automotive manufacturing industry”.
