India reports 9,119 coronavirus cases, 396 deaths in last 24 hours. Most deaths from Kerala


New Delhi: India on Thursday saw a slight dip in the growth of COVID-19 as the country registered 9,119 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. According to the Health Ministry, 10,264 patients were cured of the virus on Wednesday and the country recorded 396 deaths in the last 24 hours.

Active coronavirus cases stand at 1,09,940 – the lowest in 539 days.

The country’s recovery rate currently stands at 98.33% which is the highest since March 2020. Now the total number of people who have been cured is 3,39,67,962.


The total caseload of COVID-19 cases in Kerala crossed the 51 lakh mark on Wednesday to reach 51,02,125, with 4,280 fresh infections being recorded. The state recorded a decline in coronavirus cases as compared to yesterday.

According to a PTI report, 308 people have died in Kerala in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 38,353.

With 5,379 more people recovering from the virus since Tuesday, the total recoveries reached 50,23,658 and active cases came down to 51,302, the release said.

Among the 14 districts, Thiruvananthapuram reported the highest number of 838 cases, followed by Ernakulam (825) and Thrissur (428).

The release said that out of 308 deaths, 35 were designated as COVID-19 deaths in the last few days and 273 after receiving an appeal based on fresh guidelines of the Center and directions of the Supreme Court Was.
