India reports 22,270 new Covid cases in last 24 hours, 14% less than yesterday | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: India reported 22,270 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a 14% decline than the previous day, taking the tally to 4,28,02,505, the health ministry said on Saturday.

The country also reported 325 deaths, taking the toll reached 5,11,230, in the last 24 hours, the ministry of health and family welfare added in a release. The case fatality rate stood at 1.19 per cent, it said.

Daily Covid-19 cases, however, have remained below one lakh for 13 consecutive days now.
According to the release, India’s active caseload currently stands at 2,53,739, that is 0.59% of the total cases, while recovery rate currently is at 98.21%. A reduction of 38,353 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

As many as 60,298 recoveries have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people cured of the disease to 4,20,37,536.
Also, a total of 75.81 crore tests have been conducted so far, including 12,35,471 tests in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 175.03 crore vaccine doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Drive,
