India rejects US report on religious freedom: Religious freedom is respected here, racial violence in America

India has rejected America’s International Religious Freedom Report 2021. India said- It is unfortunate that vote bank politics is being done in international relations. The US State Department’s 2021 report on religious freedom around the world was released by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

America’s statement on India
During this, Blinken said – India is the world’s largest democracy and people of many religions live together here, but there are increasing attacks on places of worship and minorities. To this, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi responded. In response, said- This report is based on baseless information of American officials. We would urge that assessments based on pre-formed information and biased viewpoints should be avoided.

Hate crime happening in America
India mentioned cases of racial violence and firing in America. Arindam Bagchi said- India as a divers society respects religious freedom and human rights. In talks with America, we have drawn attention to the issues there. These include issues of ethnic and origin attacks, hate crimes and gun violence.

Do not draw conclusions on things motivated by vote bank politics
India said- In discussions with the US, we have consistently expressed our concerns about issues related to racially motivated attacks, hate crimes and gun violence in them. No conclusion should be drawn on the basis of words and ideas motivated by vote bank politics. We categorically reject this report.

Increasing attacks on people and religious places – report
Arindam Bagchi said- We urge that assessment based on politically motivated inputs should be avoided. India respects religious freedom and human rights. While releasing the report on religious freedom, America said that in India, we are seeing increasing attacks on people and religious places.
