India records 41,506 new COVID-19 cases, 895 deaths; Tally Over 3.08 Cr – Kashmir Reader

New Delhi: With 41,506 people testing positive for coronavirus infection in a day, the total number of COVID-19 cases in India rose to 3,08,37,222, while active cases decreased to 4, according to data from the Union Health Ministry. 54,118. Updated on Sunday.

The death toll has risen to 4,08,040 with 895 fresh deaths.

Active cases comprise 1.47 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 97.20 per cent, showed data updated at 8 am.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decrease of 915 cases in a span of 24 hours.

On Saturday, 18,43,500 tests were conducted in the country taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far to 43,08,85,470 for the detection of COVID-19.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.25 per cent. It has remained below 3 per cent for 20 consecutive days, the ministry said, adding the weekly positivity rate has come down to 2.32 per cent.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease rose to 2,99,75,064 and the case fatality rate stands at 1.32 per cent, the data said.

The cumulative dose of vaccine administered so far has reached 37.60 crores under the nationwide immunization campaign.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on 7 August, 30 lakh on 23 August, 40 lakh on 5 September and 50 lakh on 16 September. It had crossed 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October. 80 lakh on 29 October, 90 lakh on 20 November and crossed the one crore mark on 19 December. India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on 4 May and 30 million on 23 June.
