India ready to engage in diplomatic talks as talks only way to end Russia-Ukraine conflict

India’s Ambassador to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti said that India is ready to engage in diplomatic talks to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict in an emergency meeting at the United Nations. The United Nations has created “grave fear” for millions.

Meanwhile, the Indian envoy said that PM Modi “has emphasized that there is no alternative but through dialogue and diplomacy to end the Ukraine-Russia conflict”.

“We stand ready to continue with these objectives in the Security Council as well as the parties (for the struggle) in the coming days,” Tirumurti was quoted as saying by PTI.

“We reiterate our call for an immediate end to hostilities across Ukraine. Our Prime Minister has reiterated this on several occasions and called for an immediate ceasefire and dialogue and diplomacy,” the ambassador said.

Tirumurti also said that India is continuously sending humanitarian supplies including medicines to Ukraine and will continue in this regard. India’s Ambassador TS Tirumurti said, “In view of the grave humanitarian situation in Ukraine, India is in the process of sending more supplies in the coming days. Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo said there were “serious apprehensions about the fate of the millions of residents” who were “facing swift attacks”. However, he also gave some positive news about the Russia-Ukraine situation.

“This week, there are positive signs regarding the ongoing direct talks between the representatives of Ukraine and Russia. We welcome all such engagements,” he said.
