Before starting his response at the UNSC, Bhat said, “I am constrained to take the stage once again to respond to some frivolous remarks made earlier today by the representative of Pakistan.”
Emphasizing that this is not the first time that the representative of Pakistan has misused the platforms provided by the United Nations for disinformation and malicious propaganda against India, Bhat said that the representatives of Pakistan have “represented their country”. He also emphasized that member states are aware that Pakistan has an established history and policy of harboring, aiding and actively supporting terrorists.

India’s consular also underlined that Pakistan “holds the outrageous record of hosting the largest number of UNSC-banned terrorists”.
Stating that New Delhi seeks normal neighborly relations with all countries, including Pakistan, it said India is “committed to address outstanding issues bilaterally and peacefully in accordance with the Shimla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration.”
“However, any meaningful dialogue can take place only in an environment free from terrorist animosity and violence,” Bhat said.
Emphasizing that the onus is on Pakistan to create such a conducive environment, he said, till then India will continue to take firm and decisive steps to respond to cross-border terrorism.
