M3M Hurun Global Rich List 2022: Hurun’s latest rich list throws light on the number of Indian billionaires in terms of the world. The global list states that there are a total of 3,381 billionaires in the world, which is 153 more than last year. Furthermore, it is mentioned that with 215 billionaires living in India and 58 newcomers, India remains the third largest billionaire producer in the world. If billionaires of Indian origin are added, then this number increases to 249. Over the past 10 years, Indian billionaires added nearly US$700 billion to their cumulative wealth in the 2022 M3M Hurun global rich list – equivalent to the GDP of Switzerland and twice the GDP of the United Arab Emirates. While the maximum city Mumbai is home to 72 billionaires, followed by the national capital New Delhi (51) and Bengaluru (28), India’s Silicon Valley is in third place.
The highlights of the Hurun Global Rich List 2022 are as follows:
– With a net increase of US$49 billion, Gautam Adani 2022 M3M Hurun added the most wealth to the global rich list. Gautam Adani added Rs 6,000 crore every week as compared to last year.
– Meanwhile, with a net worth of US$103 billion, Mukesh Ambani, who is Asia’s richest, is the only Indian to enter the top 10 in the 2022 M3M Hurun global rich list. His wealth increased by 24 per cent.
Vaccine king Cyrus Poonawalla, world’s richest healthcare billionaire, is ranked 55th by Serum Institute of India, improving 72 ranks in the last five years. Poonawalla’s wealth rises 41 percent to US$26 billion
– With a net worth of US$9.7 billion, a jump of 113 ranks last year, Ashwin Dani & Family, ranked 269, is the world’s richest paint entrepreneur.
India is also home to the world’s richest aviation billionaires. With net worth of US$4.3 billion and US$4.2 billion respectively, the family of Rakesh Gangwal and Rahul Bhatia and the “Indigo” airlines are the wealthiest aviation billionaires. The co-founders of InterGlobe have improved their ranks by 231 positions in the past five years.
Kumar Mangalam Birla and family, ranked 104th, is the world’s richest cement producer, jumping 103 ranks in the last two years, and with a net worth of US$18 billion.
The family of Nusli Wadia and Britannia is the world’s richest biscuit maker with a net worth of US$7.5 billion.
-Lakshmi N Mittal, USD 25 billion, is the world’s second richest metals and mining entrepreneur.
Uday Kotak is the third richest banker in the world with an improvement of 29 places and a net worth of US$16 billion in the last five years.
Shiv Nadar and family is the third richest software and services billionaire in the world, with 52 places improving in the last five years, and a net worth of US$28 billion.
-Beauty e-commerce platform Falguni Nayari, founder of Nykaa Hurun has become the richest new entrant to the Global Rich List 2022.
