India, Croatia sign agreement for academic cooperation in traditional medicine systems

According to a statement by the Ministry of AYUSH, India and Croatia have signed an agreement for academic cooperation in traditional systems of medicine, especially in the field of Ayurveda.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between All India Institute of Ayurveda and Kvarner Health Tourism Cluster of Croatia on Wednesday.

AIIA is an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH.

The Ministry said that the MoU with Croatia is an important step towards strengthening India’s relations with other countries and promoting academic research, clinical and educational activities, medical education, training and qualification building.

Dr Manoj Nesari, Adviser, Ministry of AYUSH, Ministry of AYUSH signed the MoU on behalf of AIIA in the presence of Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, AYUSH and Raj Srivastava, Ambassador of India to Croatia.

A six-member delegation led by Pathak was in Croatia earlier this week to participate in the first International Yoga and Ayurveda Conference.

Both sides will undertake academic activities in the field of Ayurveda in collaboration with the identified institutions. There will be close collaboration and collaboration on research including study design and execution, developing evidence-based guidelines to integrate Ayurvedic principles and practices with modern medicine, and conducting lectures, workshops, seminars and conferences.

The two countries will develop educational standards and courses according to the needs of the institute, end users and stakeholders, and develop Ayurvedic medical education guidelines for Ayurveda education in Croatia, the statement said.

“It will promote academic research, clinical and educational activities, medical education, training and qualification building,” Nesari said.
