New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday (May 5) said that relations between India and China are not normal and cannot be normal till there is peace in the disputed border areas. The External Affairs Minister was addressing a press conference after the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries in Goa.

On his bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said, “…the issue is that in the border areas, there is an abnormal situation along the border. We have had a very frank discussion about it… We have to take the process of disengagement forward. I have also made it very clear publicly that India-China relations are not normal and cannot be normal if there is a breach of peace in the border areas…”
