Dubai: India, Australia and England are among 17 member countries that have shown interest in hosting the International Cricket Council (ICCwhite ball incidents during the next eight-year tournament cycle from 2024-2031, the sport’s global governing body said on Monday.

Following the expansion of its event schedule in the next cycle, the ICC has begun the process of identifying hosts for the men’s white-ball events to be held after 2023.
The ICC said in a press release that the ICC World Test Championship final and the ICC Women’s and Under-19 events will be hosted in a separate process in the new cycle that starts later this year.
Eight men’s ODI and T20 events will be held from the 2024–2031 cycle, including two men’s ODI World Cups, four men’s T20 World Cups and two ICC Champions Trophy and members to submit preliminary technical proposals as potential hosts. was invited. This included individual country submissions as well as joint proposals.
Initial submissions have been received from Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Namibia, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Scotland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, United Arab Emirates, USA and Zimbabwe.
ICC Acting Chief Executive Geoff Allardyce said: “We are delighted with the response from our members to hosting the ICC men’s white-ball events after 2023. This process allows us to expand our range of hosts and contribute to cricket around the world. Opportunity to drive interest and reach more fans, while building a long-lasting legacy for the game.
“Cricket has over a billion fans worldwide and ICC events have a proven track record of bringing significant economic and social benefits to host nations.
“These events provide a great opportunity for hosts to work closely with local communities to develop sport while supporting economic and social development public policy goals.”
Recently the ICC had announced that the Champions Trophy, which has not been held in England since 2017, will be revived during the next FTP cycle and accordingly India has decided to bid for it.
“We will now move on to the second phase of the process where members will provide more detailed proposals before the ICC Board decides on our future hosts later this year,” Allardyce said.
