The Indian contingent had to endure a rather dry day on Saturday at the Paris Olympics 2024 as multiple athletes representing the tricolour narrowly missed out on adding to the medal tally.

So close yet so far for Manu Bhaker, who lost out on another historic bronze by the smallest of margins, as she finished a painstaking 4th in the Women’s 25m Air Pistol Final.

But Indian archer Deepika Kumari kept the fight going for the Indian archery contingent as the sole competitor in the Women’s Individual event, before ultimately crashing out in the quarterfinal.

Golfers Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar stood tied at 34th and 48th respectively at the end of the third round of play. Sailors Netra Kumanan and Vishnu Saravanan finished their dinghy events placed 24 and 23 respectively.

Raiza Dhillon, the other Indian in the fray, is currently in 25th place, with a score of 66/75.
