India a firm partner in Nepal’s visit, said PM Modi after talks with Sher Bahadur Deuba

new Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday jointly inaugurated the Solu Corridor 132 kV power transmission line and substation in Nepal, built under the Line of Credit of the Government of India.

With this Nepal has officially joined the International Solar Alliance.

In Delhi, PM Narendra Modi and Nepal PM Sher Bahadur Deuba also jointly flagged off the inauguration of cross-border passenger train services between Jayanagar (India) and Kurtha (Nepal).

Talking about his Nepalese counterpart, PM Modi said, “Deuba ji is an old friend of India. As Prime Minister, this is his fifth visit to India. He played a key role in developing India-Nepal relations. The friendship between India and Nepal, the relationship between our peoples – can’t be seen anywhere else in the world.”

“India has been a strong partner in Nepal’s journey of peace, prosperity and development. It will always be so,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi and the Prime Minister of Nepal held delegation level talks at Hyderabad House in the national capital.

Speaking about the meeting, Modi said, “We discussed various aspects of our cooperation, reviewed the progress of various projects, and also discussed future blueprints. We both agreed that we should see opportunities for cooperation in power.” should take advantage of the area.”

“Our joint approach on power cooperation will prove to be a blueprint for cooperation in the future,” he said.

Documents and MoUs were signed and exchanged between India and Nepal today in the presence of the two Prime Ministers.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted, “Comprehensive dialogue on our multi-faceted partnership is on the agenda.”

After talks, India and Nepal have finalized four agreements to expand ties in sectors such as railways and energy.
