Ind vs WI | Washington Sundar Ruled Out Of Entire T20 Series Due To Hamstring Injury

New Delhi: The first match of the three-match T20 International series between India and West Indies is scheduled to be played on 16th February at the Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata.

Ahead of the series opener, Rohit Sharma & Co. received a major setback as spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar has reportedly been ruled out of the entire India-West Indies T20I series due to injury.

Sundar has suffered a Grade 1 hamstring injury. A Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) official told Cricbuzz that after the hamstring injury, Sundar now will have to report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) on Tuesday, February 15.

The report also suggests that Sundar will have to spend at least three weeks at the NCA which could also result in him missing the upcoming India-Sri Lanka series too.

Washington Sundar has become the third Indian player to be ruled out of the T20I series. Before him, vice-captain KL Rahul and spinner Axar Patel have also been ruled out of the T20 series. Rituraj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda have been included in the team as their replacements.
