Virat Kohli to play his 100th Test under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy

India captain Rohit Sharma on Thursday confirmed that the team wants to make the first Test against Sri Lanka a memorable one for senior batsman Virat Kohli. On Friday, Kohli will become the 12th Indian and 71st Test cricketer to achieve the milestone of playing in 100 Tests.
“It has been an absolutely wonderful journey for him. It has been a long journey and an amazing journey ever since he made his debut and has come a long way to play his 100th game. He has done very well in this particular format, a lot of things have changed in the way the team is progressing and all that.”
“It’s been fantastic to watch and it’s been one hell of a ride for him and will continue for years to come. We definitely want to make it special for him; we’re all up for it. Let’s hope we have it.” Have a good five days of cricket,” Sharma said in the pre-match virtual press conference.
