IND vs SA: India’s biggest win over South Africa in T20, series level at 2-2, ‘final’ will be held in Bengaluru

India defeated South Africa by 82 runs in the fourth T20I of the five-match series. Batting first, India scored 169 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. In reply, South Africa could only manage 87 runs in 16.5 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Captain Temba Bavuma retired hurt after being injured. Later he did not even come to bat.

This is South Africa’s lowest total in T20Is. Earlier, he scored 89 against Australia on 21 February 2020 in Johannesburg. At the same time, the 82-run victory is India’s biggest win over South Africa in terms of runs in T20. Earlier, India defeated South Africa by 48 runs in Visakhapatnam.

Dinesh Karthik scored 55 runs for India, while Hardik scored 46 runs. At the same time, Russi van der Dussen scored the highest 20 runs for South Africa. In his innings, Karthik hit nine fours and two sixes. Karthik scored the first half-century in his 16-year T20 career. He made his debut against South Africa on 1 December 2006. That was also India’s first T20 match.

Akshar remained unbeaten on eight runs and Harshal Patel scored one run. India scored 73 runs in the last five overs i.e. 16 to 20 overs and lost only two wickets. Lungi Ngidi took the highest two wickets for South Africa. At the same time, Marco Yansen, Pretorius, Nortje and Maharaj got one wicket each.

Chasing the target of 170 runs, South Africa’s team got a big blow in the fourth over. Captain Temba Bavuma was injured.
