IND Vs SA 3rd Test: Shardul Thakur took the crucial wicket of Pietersen, will give some hope to India

IND Vs SA: The Indian bowlers will have to step up and stop the South African batsmen from scoring the remaining runs. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami took a wicket each while the other bowlers failed to achieve success.

India got off to a poor start on the fourth day as the pacers failed to pick up any wickets in the first 45 minutes. When Bavuma was batting on 59, Cheteshwar Pujara dropped a sitter.

India had set a target of 212 runs for South Africa to score in the last innings of the Cape Town Test match. When the Proteas came out to bat the target looked good but with captain Dean Elgar and Keegan Pietersen sharing a 78-run second wicket partnership, things are looking grim for India as South Africa need to win the Test. Just 111 runs were needed to seal the series 2-1.

The series is tied at 1-1 and the fourth day of the Cape Town Test could be the deciding day not only for this Test match but also for the World Test Championship points table.

India should look back on their first innings performance when South Africa were 112/3 and the Indian bowlers were all out for 210. Similar situation has happened and Indian bowlers will have to bring their A-game.

South Africa still have Rassie van der Dussen, Temba Bavuma, Kyle Veren and Marco Jensen who can bat.
