IND vs SA, 2nd Test: Mohd Siraj Decimates Proteas Batting Order With A 6-Wicket Haul

The new year started off in spectacular fashion for Team India as they started off the 2nd Test against South Africa in sublime form. Mohd Siraj’s world class spell saw him take a fifer within the first 8 overs of his spell. Siraj then went to pick up another wicket, dismissing Kyle Verreynne as well.

The 29-year-old pacer bamboozled the South African batting order, which left them struggling at 45/7 within 18 overs.

Dean Elgar, who starred with the bat in the 1st Test was bowled out by Siraj at just 4 runs as Team India look to make amends in the Cape Town Test.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar also managed to pick up two scalps each pacers owned the day in Cape Town in Day 1. This was Siraj’s first ever 6-wicket haul against The Proteas as he seemed to make amends after India’s disappointing display in the 1st Test at Centurion. Siraj’s spell saw him bowl 3 maidens in his first 9 overs as he picked up 6 scalps in the process. The innings ended in a bad way for the home side as they were limited to 55 runs, one of their lowest totals in Test cricket.
