Rahul Tripathi missed out on his maiden T20 International fifty on Wednesday but left no stone unturned to entertain the spectators. Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. During the third and final match of the series against New Zealand, Rahul scored 44 runs in 22 balls with three sixes and four fours.
Rahul came to the crease after the early dismissal of wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan. He started cautiously and once settled down showed no mercy to the New Zealand bowlers. He shared a quickfire 80-run partnership with opener Shubman Gill, who also scored his maiden century in the shortest format of the game.

Rahul performed a variety of shots but the one that stood out was the one he played against Lockie Ferguson. New Zealand bowls a quicker ball towards off. India No. 3 judges the ball brilliantly and throws it inside and away, bringing out a powerful slash square of the wicket. The ball took an aerial route before going for a one-bounce boundary.
Rahul continued his fireworks till he was caught by Ferguson off Ish Sodhi while trying to bring up his maiden half-century with a big hit. He walked out after scoring 44 but won praise for his brilliant cameo.

Shubman Gill hit his maiden century in the shortest format of the game as India posted 234 for four in the series-deciding third T20 International against New Zealand here on Wednesday.

Gill remained unbeaten on 126 off 63 balls, hitting 12 fours and seven sixes, while Rahul Tripathi and skipper Hardik Pandya contributed 44 and 30 respectively.
Michael Bracewell, Blair Tickner, Ish Sodhi and Daryl Mitchell took one wicket each for New Zealand.
