IND vs ENG: Former cricketer asks Sachin Tendulkar to call Virat Kohli: ‘Said this eight months ago’

Last time Virat Kohli Met Sachin Tendulkar, it was 2014 and he was facing the same drought he is facing today. He returned from England after a very poor series where he was consistently found outside his off-stump by James Anderson. The next few months saw him at his best while answering his critics with the bat, scoring three centuries in Australia.

So is meeting Tendulkar the only solution to Kohli’s problem? That’s the big question, but if former cricketer Ajay Jadeja is to be believed then Sachin can certainly help him sort out some technical specifications, so much so that Jadeja suggested Tendulkar to take the initiative and call Virat.

“I said this 8 months ago when we were talking about this. I said the only person Virat Kohli is going through is Tendulkar. The only man he should call up and say, ‘Let’s go together’ Let’s drink. Have a good meal’. Because who else, has never had a bad patch since starting at the age of 14 or 15? Just go ahead, and reach the heights Tendulkar had reached?” Jadeja said in the post-match show on Sony Six.

“So, I can’t think of anyone else, because I believe everything is in the mind. So, he is a call away from Tendulkar. I hope even if Virat doesn’t call.. .Actually Sachin is what he should call. Sometimes, youngsters are at that stage. When you grow up, since you have been through it, it is your duty to call. I hope Master Will do that,” Jadeja further said.

With parity restored in the three-match series, Sunday’s decider at Old Trafford in Manchester promises to be mouth-watering.

When the Indian bowlers put up another impressive performance to bowl England out for 246 in 49 overs, no one knew the visiting batsmen would be inexplicably trapped for 146 runs in 38.5 overs in front of Topley’s good seam and swing bowling .

David Willey (1/27 in 9 overs), experienced Moeen Ali (1/30) and Liam Livingstone (1/4) also played their part perfectly.
