MUMBAI: The entire Indian team has tested negative for COVID after reports of fresh RT-PCR tests conducted on Thursday morning came around 5.30 pm UK time (10 PM IST).
The match was in jeopardy after tourists canceled a training session and media commitments following Thursday’s report of a fresh Covid-19 case involving a support staff member.
But an ECB spokesperson said later on Thursday that all subsequent RT-PCR tests from within the Indian team had given negative results and the Test match “goes on”.
Panic gripped the Team India camp when Yogesh Parmar, the team’s assistant physiotherapist, tested positive on Wednesday evening. The Indian team on Thursday canceled their training session and went into a quarantine by locking themselves in their respective rooms at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.
Players will be moved to a different floor and bio-bubble in the same hotel in Manchester. They will remain in the bubble till the end of the Test and then reach the UAE.

The entire camp heaved a sigh of relief when the report came negative and is ready for the Test match.
