IND vs BAN, 1st ODI: Kuldeep Sen Makes India Debut as Bangladesh Elect to Bowl in Series Opener

Bangladesh captain Liton Das won the toss and elected to bowl India at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. The visiting team has decided to hand over its debut cap to young fast bowler Kuldeep Sen for the first match of the three ODI series on Sunday. Sen impressed many in IPL 2022 with his discipline and raw pace with the ball, which he continued in domestic cricket and carved a path for himself in international cricket.

India decided to go with four pace bowling options as Mohammed Siraj has been given a chance to lead the attack. While Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar have been included as fast bowling all-rounders to add depth to the Indian batting.

While Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Ahmed were chosen as the spin all-rounders as India relied heavily on their top five to set the stage for a big score.

Captain Rohit Sharma said that the ODI World Cup is still far away and the team wants to take it one match at a time.

“Honestly speaking, I was not sure. We would have bowled first if the pitch was showing some moisture. Few injuries and few issues, we have four all-rounders playing.
