Former Australia head coach Justin Langer claims that the upcoming tour of India Pat will be the toughest for Cummins & Co. The Border Gavaskar Trophy will once again be contested between the two cricket giants in a four-match Test series. The Asian giants have proved too good for the Aussies in the last few tours of Australia and the visitors will be under immense pressure to improve on their recent record against India.
Langer, who coached the Australian team in the last two Test series against India, said that he is excited to see how Cummins and Co. perform on the toughest tour.

“It’s not sad, I’ve moved on. I won’t be there, but I’m looking forward to seeing the boys win there. It would be great if they can. I can’t wait to see it.” It’s the toughest tour. I look back in 2004 when Australia won for the first time in 35 years, that’s how it feels about it,” Langer said while speaking to The Age.
Langer revealed that he regarded the Indian Test tour as his ‘Mount Everest tour’ but feels the current Australian team is well balanced and recent performances indicate they have Rohit Sharma & Co. There is a chance to beat
“It was a very balanced and confident team. The current team is winning and I think they have a good chance to beat India. That was my Mount Everest tour. I always said I would love to do it again. I want to be able to because it was very difficult to do.”

Langer emphasized the combination of the Australian team and suggested they ticked all the boxes to taste success on Indian soil.
“Australia have two senior professionals at the top. He has No. 3 and No. 4, averages 60 and is the best partner. They are hungry and play spin very well. Travis Head is batting at a different level. He is inspired by that top four. Hopefully Cameron Green will be back, that gives a really nice balance. You have the best fast bowling attack in the world and you have the best spinner in the world. My gosh, they have an incredibly well-balanced team,” Langer said.
The upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy is going to be crucial for India to make it to the tournament World Test Championship Final. The hosts have only announced their squad for the first two matches of the series as Rohit Sharma will lead the team as Jasprit Bumrah will not be able to play in the matches due to fitness concerns.
