Guwahati: Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka on Monday said that he is banking on the positive aspects of the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka. India And have given a tough fight in the three-match ODI series starting here from Tuesday.

“No team has won in India in recent times except South Africa. Even we put up a good fight in Mumbai. But they got stronger, we need to play competitive cricket,” Shanaka said on the eve of the ODI series.
Emphasizing the need to perform well, he added: “This is an important tournament for all Sri Lankans because World The Cup is going to be here in India, so looking forward to this series.”
“It is very good preparation, conditions will be similar. The boys are ready for it, they know the importance of this tournament.”
The Sri Lankan skipper was their highest run-scorer in the T20I series with 124 runs at a strike rate of 187.87.

The Lankan skipper feels it will be a high-scoring affair.
“We’ve seen the decks and it appears to be a high-scoring game.”
Still rattled by Suryakumar’s onslaught, Shanaka was asked how he plans to stop the in-form Indian batsman.
“It is a familiar question for all captains. Suryakumar is a 360 player in the form he is in. It is all about bowling in the right areas and executing your plans well.”
