Virat Kohli feels that the conditions at The Oval will be slightly different from normal and the batsmen will have to show solid technique and discipline.

Batting maestro Virat Kohli made his debut in the World Test Championship final against Australia at The Oval, London. In the first three tours that Kohli has been to England, he has done well only once while he has struggled in the other two tours.

Kohli has found his form and has been scoring consistently in recent times. He also ended his long century drought in Tests with a century against Australia in the Fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The 34-year-old feels conditions at The Oval will be a bit different from normal and the batsmen will need to show solid technique and discipline against Australia.

“I think the conditions at The Oval will be a bit more challenging, it won’t be a flat wicket that it is known for. We have to play it slow, focus on technique and discipline. We need to use our experience in those conditions. We can go into the WTC final with the expectation that the Oval pitch is going to play a certain way,” Kohli told Star Sports.

The batting maestro further said that playing at a neutral venue makes the contest even for both the teams in the final of the World Test Championship. He suggested that whichever team is able to adapt to the conditions, will win the title.

“We need to adjust and adapt as it is a one-off Test at a neutral venue for both the teams, so whichever team adapts well will win the match. This is the beauty of the World Test Championship that both the teams There is no home advantage so it will be exciting to see how both the teams adjust to the conditions.”

The Indian players reached England almost a week ago and are training hard for the mega clash which begins on June 7. Kohli has scored 1020 Test runs in English conditions in 16 matches and the Asian legend would like to be 34-years-old to score big against Australia.
