In the first Uttarakhand cabinet meeting under Chief Minister Dhami, a resolution to give corruption-free administration to the people

Dehradun: In the first meeting of the Uttarakhand Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it was resolved to provide corruption free administration, transparent, sensitive and prompt services to the people through maximum use of information technology. Improve health facilities to effectively control COVID-19.

The cabinet adopted six resolutions to meet the expectations of the people ahead of next year’s state assembly elections, Minister Subodh Uniyal told a media briefing here on Monday.< /p>

The cabinet meeting took place hours after Dhami’s swearing-in with a team of 11 ministers on Sunday, but the media briefing was held on Monday as the meeting went on till late at night.

Uniyal said that other resolutions passed by the cabinet include creating employment and self-employment opportunities for youth, upliftment of Dalits and empowering women. Taken by the cabinet, which includes raising the salary of guest teachers from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per month and posting them in their home districts, he said. The other important decision was to maintain the continuity of service of about 200 contractual employees of the Polytechnic. Uniyal said that institutions, payment of salaries to MGNREGA workers for the duration of the strike and filling up of around 22,000 vacancies in various departments.

It was also decided to revive the defunct District Employment Exchanges. A cabinet sub-committee was also constituted under the chairmanship of Uniyal to look into the salary related issues of the police department.

The Chief Minister held a separate meeting with senior officials at Bijapur Guest House on Monday and asked them to initiate the process of filling up various vacancies in a time bound manner at the earliest. He also asked them to prepare a proposal for giving one year relaxation in upper age limit for recruitment to the vacant posts. Asking the officials to prepare a detailed action plan, Dhami said that providing employment to the people is one of the top priorities of his government. He said that more and more people should get employment.

All arrangements should be made to effectively control the COVID-19 pandemic and facilities like oxygen concentrators and cylinders should be made available in all community and primary health centers.

Chief Minister Er also flagged off 10 vehicles carrying COVID relief material for distribution among 1,500 families of Mussoorie constituency.
