The postmortem was done at Jhansi Medical College and the body was handed over to the MP Police along with the report.

The police swung into action after the father of the deceased lodged an FIR with the Chhatarpur police alleging that she was murdered by her husband Talib Khan and in-laws.
The deceased Kishori Lal Ahirwar’s father along with her husband Talib Khan and some other relatives were present during the process of removing the body.
According to Kishorilal, her daughter Neelam was kidnapped by Talib Khan alias Tabu in 2015 when she was a minor. Later the police recovered him and sent him to the shelter home. In 2017, Neelam ran away from the shelter home and married Talib and converted to Islam with her new identity as Afroz Khan.
Kishorilal alleged that her daughter was murdered by her in-laws and on July 1, she received a call from her daughter that she was being forced to adopt the customs of Islam, which she had denied and He can be killed. . The next day he went to meet her along with his son, but the in-laws did not allow him.
He further alleged that on July 7 he received a message about an accident and reached Afroz’s house, where he found it locked. It was through the neighbors that he came to know that his daughter had been taken away wrapped in a white sheet. On further investigation, it was found that his daughter has been taken to Jhansi. Consequently, she lodged a police complaint alleging her daughter’s murder by her in-laws and demanded that the body be handed over to her.
Police sources have learned that Afroz was brought to Jhansi by his in-laws where he died. He was later buried at the Premnagar graveyard in Jhansi with the help of Talib’s maternal uncle, who lived in Jhansi. The last rites were performed without informing the police or conducting a post-mortem.
CSP Chhatarpur said, “As part of investigation into the death of Afroz, the body was exhumed on the basis of a complaint lodged by his father Kishorilal. No arrest has been made so far and further investigation is on in the matter.”
SDM Jhansi said, “Afroz’s body was exhumed under my supervision as Executive Magistrate designated by Jhansi DM under Section 176 of CrPC. Further investigation is underway.”
