In Madhubani district of Bihar, a police officer and a police officer pointed a pistol at a judge. The matter did not stop here. Both the police officers barged into the judge’s chamber and also abused and assaulted him. The matter is of Jhanjharpur Behavioral Court.
Police Station Officer (SHO) Gopal Prasad and Inspector (SI) Abhimanyu Kumar posted at Ghoghardiha police station appeared before Judge Avinash Kumar on Thursday for the ongoing hearing on a complaint. An argument ensued during the hearing itself and both the policemen attacked the judge. As of now, the reason for the incident has not been revealed yet.
Patna High Court summons DGP and SP
On the letter sent by Judge Avinash Kumar, Patna High Court has issued notice to the Chief Secretary, DGP, Home Department and Madhubani SP of Bihar. The DGP has been asked to file the status report in sealed cover by November 29. The High Court itself will hear the matter on the same day.
The accused was given bail on the condition of washing clothes for free
In September this year, Judge Avinash Kumar had granted bail to the molestation accused on the condition that all the women of his village wash and press clothes. This service is to be provided free of cost to the accused for 6 consecutive months. The judge had entrusted the responsibility of monitoring it to the Panch-Sarpanch of the village. On completion of 6 months, the convict was also ordered to take a certificate of free service and submit it to the court. The accused is 20 years old and a washerman by profession.

The judge was trembling with fear
On this whole incident, Jhanjharpur Bar Association’s vice-president Balram Sah said that as soon as there was uproar, we entered the judge’s chamber. We saw that SI Abhimanyu Kumar is pistol taunting Judge Avinash Kumar, as well as abusing filthy abuses. After this, all the lawyers present there and the policemen living in the court came and rescued the judge. They were trembling with fear.
Demand for action on Madhubani SP
On getting information about the incident, other officials including SP-DSP reached the court and sat with the judge and inquired about the matter. In this case, Jhanjharpur Bar Association has demanded action against both the police officers as well as Madhubani SP. They have been demanded to be charged in this case. Balram Sah says that till this does not happen, the work in Jhanjharpur Civil Court will be suspended.
After the uproar, a crowd gathered outside the judge’s cabin.
Police Association demanded a fair investigation
In this episode, the president of Bihar Police Association Mrityunjay Kumar Singh has made a big demand. He has demanded a fair investigation of the entire matter by a judge of the Patna High Court. Action should be taken against whoever is guilty in the report of a fair investigation. We respect the judiciary. But no one has given the magistrate the right to abuse the policemen. He abused the policemen for arriving late. insulted him. After which there was an argument between the two sides. Only after that the matter escalated. Both sides are saying their point of view. Therefore, there should be a fair investigation in this matter.
Jhanjharpur Bar Association vice-president Balram Sah has demanded action against both the policemen and the SP.
Case registered in Jhanjharpur police station
Judge Avinash Kumar has recorded his statement in front of DSP Neha Kumari in the case. In the statement, he has said that both the police officers beat him up with abusive language. Ghoghardiha Police Station (SHO) Gopal Prasad pointed his service pistol at me and threatened to kill me. He talked about doing this with the support of ‘his boss SP Sahab’. At present, SI Arvind Kumar of Jhanjharpur police station has been given the responsibility of investigation by registering case number 255/2021 under sections of IPC and Arms Act. After the registration of the FIR, both the police officers have been arrested late in the night.

Madhubani SP Dr. Satya Prakash said that a case of scuffle has come to the fore between the Judge of Jhanjharpur Court and the police personnel. The matter is under investigation. Strict action will be taken against the policemen after investigation. Under no circumstances will they be spared.
