In a show of strength after the defeat in the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party is all set to organize rallies and debates on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14.
The BSP got just one assembly seat in the recent UP elections, which is the worst ever performance in the state elections.
The party has asked its workers to prepare for Ambedkar Jayanti from the Ambedkar level. To mark this occasion, the workers have been instructed to organize debates, rallies etc. in every zone of the state. According to BSP sources, party chief Mayawati may attend the function organized by party workers of Lucknow region at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Memorial.
This will be the first time that the BSP will organize a grand celebration of BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary since the outbreak of the Covid pandemic. The Zonal Coordinators of all the 18 zones of the state will be the chief guests of the functions to be held in their respective areas, while the district heads will take the responsibility of taking the people of their respective districts to these programs.
The party will try to show strength after the defeat of the UP assembly elections and at the same time give a strong message to its workers. Sources said the BSP also aims to send a message that its voters, mainly from the SC/ST community, still remain with the party.
Preparations are already underway for the grand celebrations of Ambedkar Jayanti in Lucknow. As per the available information, audio messages based on the life of BR Ambedkar will be played on this occasion.
