‘I’m Very Much Alive’ After NCP Leader’s Mistake in Lok Sabha, Kiren Rijiju Tells Supriya Sule

new Delhi: Union minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday told Nationalist Congress Party leader Supriya Sule in a light-hearted manner that she is “very much alive”.

His statement came after Sule, while praising his role as a sports minister during his address in the Lok Sabha, mistakenly said that “he is no more”.

On Sule’s tongue slipping, Rijiju wrote on Twitter, ‘I am very much alive and doing my duty @supriya_sule ji..

He further added, “Light note different, thank you for the pleasant words as the spirit of the game goes beyond politics and ideology to build a #TeamIndia.”

Sule was appreciating the role of Kiren Rijiju and current sports minister Anurag Thakur in the Lok Sabha last week when she mistakenly said that Rijiju is now the law and justice minister.

He was immediately corrected by Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi. He realized that he was wrong and corrected himself by saying “he is no longer a minister”.

“Rijiju’s contribution as sports minister was significant and the House should praise him in one voice and Thakur was taking the leadership forward,” Sule said.

He said that Rijiju did a lot of work using social media to encourage the youth towards sports.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday addressed the Lok Sabha on the Criminal Procedure (Identity) Bill. The Bill allows the government to keep records of personal data such as iris scans, fingerprints, etc. of any accused for future identification.
