‘I’m going to disturb him’: Hasan Ali excited to team up with James Anderson in Lancashire

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali will represent Lancashire as their overseas player in six matches of the ongoing County Championship. Ali hopes to gain maximum knowledge from James Anderson and also learn the art of swinging the ball both ways.

“Honestly, it’s too cold for me,” Ali was quoted as saying espncricinfo, “But yes, I have to adjust. I want to thank the Lancashire management for this opportunity. I am very excited and look forward to sharing the dressing room with our players; obviously we have Jimmy BrotherJimmy Anderson, so I’m very happy and very excited.”

“To be honest, I’ve never talked to him before. But now I’ll have too many questions to ask him. I’m going to bother him. We know he is a great bowler. He swings the ball both ways. I’m going to learn how to swing the ball both ways, especially the cross-seam ball. I’m going to learn it,” he said.

Ali will be reunited with another England pacer in the form of Saqib Mahmood, with whom he played for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League.

He said, “Saqib spoke with me this morning. He told me that here the ball reverses. We know how to reverse the ball because Pakistan bowlers used to use reverse swing since childhood because they are the bowlers. Tough conditions for Pakistan. In Pakistan, dry conditions. It is the same here. I know the weather is cold but the square is dry and the wicket is dry so there is hope [I will] Do the opposite.”
