Kanpur: IIT-Kanpur on its 62nd Foundation Day honored its alumni and peers for their outstanding achievements and contributions in various fields.
The former presided over the ceremony held in hybrid mode amid pandemic restrictions ISRO Chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT Kanpur.
20 awards including 16 alumni and four fellows including scientists and technocrats were presented.
Awarded Distinguished Alumnus Award Federation minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, IndiGo Paints MD Hemant Jalan, Engineers India Limited CMD Vartika Shukla, and CureFit CEO and co-founder Mukesh Bansal.
The Satyendra K Dubey Memorial Award was presented to Karnal Singh, former chief of Enforcement Directorate.
IIT Kanpur Director Prof. Abhay Karandikar said, “The IIT-K fraternity came together to support India and the world in the fight against COVID and provide solutions to overcome challenges. We are proud of the achievements of our alumni.”
IIT Kanpur also launched two major centers of research and learning – Shivani Center for the Nurture and Re-integration of Hindi and other Indian Languages ​​and Chandrakanta Kesavan Center for Energy Policy and Climate Solutions.
The Chandrakanta Kesavan Center for Energy Policy and Climate Solutions will help India develop, adapt and implement technologies to reduce emissions and grow in a sustainable manner, in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
