IFS officer arrested for demanding one crore bribe: Colonizer in Punjab feared recovery of FIR; Also ask for 10 lakhs every month

Vishal Chauhan, Indian Forest Service (IFS) has been arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in Punjab for demanding one crore bribe. Not only this, after this a commission of Rs 100 lakh was sought every month and Rs 5 lakh in land sale. He had shown fear of FIR to the colonizer accusing him of possession of land falling under the Punjab Land Reservation Act. This action was taken on IFS after interrogation of the first caught contractor and forest officers.

First contractor and DFO arrested
On June 2, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau had arrested Mohali DFO Guramanpreet Singh and contractor Harminder Singh Hami in a corruption case. During interrogation, it was found that IFS Vishal Chauhan is also involved in the bribery business. After which Vigilance named him in the case.

Some land of colonizer under PLPA
Investigation revealed that Davinder Sandhu, a resident of Sector 10 Chandigarh, has 100 acres of land in village Masaul and Tanda. Some part of it comes under the Punjab Land Preservation Act (PLPA).

A complaint against colonizer Davinder Sandhu’s father Colonel Baljit Sandhu and his employee Tarsem Singh reached the police. Range officer Ranjodh Singh gave this complaint. He told Davinder Sandhu that this complaint has been given at the behest of DFO Guramanpreet Singh and Shivalik Circle Conservator (Forester) Vishal Chauhan. Sandhu should talk to both of them or else an FIR will be registered against them.

Talked for one and a half hours, all video recording
After this, Davinder Sandhu had a one-and-a-half hour conversation with contractor Hami and DFO Gurmanpreet Singh. Sandhu gave a packet of Rs 2 lakh to the DFO at the behest of the contractor. The DFO said that he would talk to Chouhan about the rest of the money and inform him. Sandhu made a video recording of the entire matter.

If you want to start the project then give one crore
After this the contractor Hami contacted Sandhu. He told that he and the DFO have already spoken to the Conservator Chauhan. To start the project, first one crore rupees will have to be given. Then every month Rs 10 lakh and out of the land sold, Rs 5 lakh will have to be paid. However, Sandhu did not agree to this.

Sandhu sent complaint to CM helpline
Davinder Sandhu sent the complaint to CM Bhagwant Mann’s helpline. After which the first DFO and the contractor were arrested. Investigation revealed that IFS Chauhan under pressure and filed a case against Davinder Sandhu’s father. After this, Davinder Sandhu was also asked to be nominated in this. For which Chauhan himself gave a complaint of the type. After which the Vigilance arrested him.
