After the announcement of the University Grant Commission (UGC), from the session 2022-23, students will be able to do two courses at the same time. Like a student doing BA, in the meantime, a student doing B.Tech and Msc can do MA in any subject. Students are happy with this decision of UGC. You can do BA-BSC from the same college
On 12 April 2022, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar held a press conference. Announced that students can do two full time degree courses simultaneously at the same time. Students will have the option that they can take admission in another course in the same university in which they are studying. Or they can do different courses from different universities.
Announcing this, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said that this new education policy will prove to be decisive.
PG ones can now do UG with him
Jagdish Kumar told that if a student is doing post graduation and he wants to do graduation again, then he can take admission. If a student wants to do a diploma course while doing a degree course, then he can also take admission in it.
PhD people have no option
For students pursuing M.Phil and PhD, the option of two degrees together has been kept closed. But apart from this, in all the lecture-based courses, this facility has been given to the students. This rule will be applicable only in the 2022-23 session. In such a situation, by April 20, the UGC should issue its detailed guidelines.

The UGC chairman made it clear that the decision to conduct two courses simultaneously will be taken by the university at its level. If he expresses his inability to initiate it and gives valid reasons, it will be considered. If the class of both the courses will run together then one will have to leave
Look at it with example. If a student takes admission in BA and as a second degree course, he takes admission in BSC in the same university and both of the classes in the college start at 10 am, then he will have to leave a course. Because the college administration is not obliged to run separate classes for such students.
Problem if you take admission in another university
If a student is taking admission in two degree courses at the same time and for this he is choosing two different colleges, then he will have a big problem. The first problem would be to take classes at both the places. The second problem will be during the examination. If the date and time of the exam are same then he can appear at the same place.

We spoke to Rajkamal Yadav, Assistant Professor, Allahabad University for this. “Declaring two courses at the same time is a good option for the students, but the slightest mistake in choosing can be fatal. So students should choose one of two courses online at a time,” he said.
Experts believe that if students opt for two regular degree courses at the same time, they will be in trouble.
Rajkamal further said, “It would be great that students choose diploma with degree. Thinking of taking two graduation degrees together will prove fatal. Yes, if a student starts doing PG in geography after doing BSC and he needs to do geography only. Now if he wants to do graduation, then he can think once.

A plan to take two degrees simultaneously came in 2012 also. The Vice Chancellor of Hyderabad University, Furqan Qamar, was the chairman of the committee formed by the UGC at that time. The committee, after talking to the university, students and professors, decided that students can take another degree along with the regular degree, but this degree will not be from the regular. For this, the student has to take admission in open or distance mode.
After this decision of the UGC, many professors came forward and put forward the academic and administrative problems caused by it. Many more professors joined. The number of people talking about two degrees at once decreased. Gradually it was put in cold storage. Seven years later, in 2019, a committee was formed under the leadership of UGC Vice-Chairman Bhushan Patwardhan. The committee spoke to different universities. Find out how two degrees can be taken simultaneously. Now after looking carefully at all the things, it has now been announced. By April 20, the UGC will issue detailed guidelines related to this.
In 2012, a committee was formed under the leadership of Furqan Qamar, the rules of two courses together were also made but could not be implemented.
In the first two degree courses, one was canceled for taking admission simultaneously.
Example 1: In the Bareilly College of Rohilkhand University, Priyanka Tiwari took admission in MA in Sociology in 2015. In the same year, he took admission in MA from painting in Khusro Degree College. When the college came to know, both the nominations of Priyanka were canceled.
Example 2: In 2015, Ibne Hasan took admission in MSc Chemistry from Hadu College, Moradabad. In the same year, took admission in MA in Political Science from KGK College Moradabad. The college found that Ibn Hasan’s enrollment was cancelled. Both these colleges are affiliated to Rohilkhand University.
Example 3: Vinay Kumar did his MSc from a university in Bihar and LLB from Delhi University. Earned both degrees. One person complained. In 2008, the university formed a committee. He called to know Vinay’s side but he did not come. The committee canceled Vinay’s LLB degree.
