“What is happening is power politics. Hope Rahul Gandhi’s yatra will be successful and achieve its objective,” he said.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday claimed that the last year gave a new “aura” to the leadership of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and if this trend continues in 2023, the country may see a political change in the next general elections. .

In his weekly column Rokhtok in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, Raut also called the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah “should not sow the seeds of hatred and division.” The Rajya Sabha member said that the Ram temple issue has been resolved, so no vote can be sought on the matter.

“Hence, a new ‘love jihad’ angle is being explored. Is this weapon of ‘love jihad’ being used to win elections and create fear among Hindus?

Referring to the death of actress Tunisha Sharma last month and the murder of Shraddha Walker allegedly by her boyfriend, Raut said these were not cases of “love jihad”, but added that no woman of any community or religion should not face torture.

“Love Jihad” is a term used by right-wing activists to allege a ploy by Muslim men to entice Hindu women to convert through marriage.

Raut said that it is expected that the country will be fear-free in 2023.

“What is happening is power politics. Hope Rahul Gandhi’s yatra is successful and achieves its objective.”

Gandhi launched the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a mass contact initiative, from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7, 2022 and is likely to conclude in Srinagar later this month.

Raut said, “The year 2022 has given a new sheen and aura to Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. If it remains the same in 2023, we can see a political change in 2024 (general elections).”

He further wrote that Prime Minister Modi says, “we need to stay away from narrow mindedness”.

But, the fact is that this attitude has increased under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule, the Rajya Sabha member claimed.

“Today’s rulers do not want to accept the existence and rights of opposition parties,” he said.

Raut further claimed that creating a division between Hindus and Muslims would lead to a new division.

“Modi and Shah should not sow the seeds of hatred and division,” he said.

Waking up Hindus is the BJP’s agenda, but it does not mean creating hatred and division in the society, Raut said, and hit out at the government, claiming that the issues of unemployment and price rise have been sidelined.
